Fishing Reports: Mid Winter Fishing Report - 2/5/2009

HEMMERS REPORT

The drop in water temperature will slow the feeding of most local fish. Try to target the warmest parts of the day to get the best bite.

Amberjacks are hanging over reefs and ledges in 90+ feet of water. The deeper areas will hold the largest fish. Live bait is key to getting the amberjacks to feed.

The trout action has slowed. Work jigs slowly across the bottom to get the to feed. Target grass piles in 3 to 6ft of water.

Look for sheepshead around the docks and bridges closest to the beach. They are moving toward the gulf for their annual spawn.
